Hugh has a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford, and a Masters in Environment and International Development from the University of East Anglia. He has been developing projects in the Comoros since 2004, and has lived on Anjouan since October 2007, when he started as Comoros Project Coordinator for BCSF.

Anjouan coordinator

Misbahou studied natural resource management at the University of Taomasina in Madagascar. He’s been working with the project since August 2008, and in 2011 was promoted to Island Coordinator for Anjouan. This role involves particular responsibility for local partnerships and supporting social analysis, conflict resolution, and institutional development in the villages.

Christian joined the team in September 2011 to support in particular the introduction of agro-ecology techniques widely deployed in Madagascar. He is an agronomist by training, and has 12 years experience working in rural development in Madagascar.

Sven Ten Napel

Sven joined the team in May 2012 to develop the landscape approach within the project. An agronomist by training, Sven specialised in tropical land and water management. Since 2008 he has been working on field projects in Mali and Cameroon, with specific experience in participatory approaches, supporting rural organisations and mapping using GIS.

Bronwen Daniel ECDD Comoros
Bronwen Daniel
Field Biologist (employed by Durrell) / Interim Head of Ecological Research and Monitoring

Bronwen studied Zoology at the University of Liverpool and completed a Masters in Conservation Science at Imperial College London.  In between studies Bronwen managed a research camp in the Democratic Republic of Congo and worked on BCSF’s lemur research project in Madagascar. Bronwen oversees the project’s ecological research.

Administration and Finance Manager

After completing his studies in Business Administration in Antananarivo, Andry worked as an auditor and then for ten years as a finance officer in many different internationally funded projects in Madagascar. Andry joined the project in January/February 2012 as head of finance and administration.
